Samsung has introduced a digital camera with easy functionalities with a firm grip and comparatively lower price tag; the Samsung NV40 Digital Camera.
Samsung NV40 10MP Digital Camera comes with a picture resolution of 10.5 mega-pixels which can produce some excellent shots. This is because a higher picture resolution determines the finer details of the image. These images are viewed on the camera's 2.5-inch LCD monitor (that has a screen resolution of 230,000 pixels), on the computer (using the USB -PC interface) and on the television (using the video-out port). It includes an external memory slot that is used to augment the camera's 20MB internal memory. The types of memory cards supported are SD and MMC memory cards. It makes use of Schneider Lens that comes with a focal length of 6.2 - 18.6mm that is equivalent to 34 - 102mm on a 35mm film based camera.
Samsung NV40 Digital Camera offers a 3x optical zoom and a digital zoom of 5x. Light sensitivity determines the sharpness of an image, the maximum light sensitivity provided by this camera is ISO 3200. It comes with preset white balance modes and automatic red-eye correction factor. Video is recorded at the rate of 30fps with a maximum video resolution of 640x480 pixels. Its in-built microphone enables video recording with sound for a maximum of 10 hours. It includes Advanced Face Detection technology which can track about 9 faces to make the necessary adjustments in the camera settings for the perfect shot. It also includes a Self Portrait mode using which you can take shots of yourself. In case you move out of focus the camera beeps to notify you of the same. It can detect about 3 faces in the self portrait mode. Images as close of 5cm can be shot with clarity and precision owing to the camera's macro photography.
Samsung NV40 Compact Digital Camera is best suited for beginners as it comes with descriptions of individual camera functions. It comes with Dual Image Stabilisation that correct camera shakes and low light conditions to deliver a better shot. Samsung has incorporated 5 types of emotional themes that can be used in the playback mode. Along with this it has also provided users with 7 special effects that can be used to enhance your creative skills. It also provides 14 scenic modes of operation. It comes with about 5 levels of adjustments for Contrast, Saturation and Sharpness for a realistic image. The major drawbacks of the NV40 is a powerful yet uneven flash and hard to navigate menu control. Samsung could have incorporated an easy to use menu controls. The NV 40 is available with a dimension of 94.5 x 59 x 18.8 mm and a weight of 133 grams.
