Unsophisticated but competent.
At first, the manual focus seems like it is 50 years behind the times, but digital cameras have short focal length and consequently much greater depth of field than traditional film cameras. So it is easy to get sharp pictures, so long as you remember to change the setting for close-ups (and change it back again afterwards).
Mine was secondhand, cheap, but immaculate. The underwater pictures for drownproofing.com were taken with the Digimax in an Aquapac Case - a cheap and easy answer for shallow water photography.
A very good choice if you aren’t a gadget snob!
