Pentax X70 Black Digital Camera is the latest from Pentax that has a sophisticated design. This 12 megapixels digital camera displays images on a 2.7 inches screen with resolution of 230,000 pixels. This digital device uses a PENTAX Zoom lens of focal length ranging between 26 and 624mm. The unit has dimensions of 110.5 x 82.5 x 89.5mms and weighs about 390g.
The camera supports optical zoom of 24x and a digital zoom of 6.25x. It has maximum and minimum shutter speeds of 4 and 1/4000 seconds respectively. Its built in flash can be set in auto, flash ON or OFF, red-eye reduction and slow sync mode. Images can be captured by setting the white balancing feature in auto, preset (Daylight, shade, tungsten, fluorescent lighting) and manual modes.
Different scenes that can be selected to capture a photo are Auto Picture, Sport, Digital SR, Movie, USER, Manual, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Program, SCN (Landscape, Flower, Portrait, Backlight, Half-length Portrait, Night Scene, Night Scene Portrait, Stage Lighting, Surf & Snow, Baby, Kids, Pet, Food, Fireworks, Frame Composite, Party, Museum, Sunset, Digital Wide, Digital Panorama) and Green. PictBridge facility helps in printing the images directly from the camera.
Focusing is done both manually as well as automatically with its types such as 9-point AF, spot AF and auto tracking AF. The range of focus can be set at standard as well as infinity with its motorized drive. Exposure metering can be done at TTL, centre-weighted and spot modes. Aperture of the lens measures about 2.8 – 5.0mms.
AVI and JPEG are the supported video and picture formats. Internal memory of 34MB is provided; it is expandable by using SD or SDHC cards. The built in microphone enables voice recording and can be stored in WAV format. Video recording is made possible at resolutions of 1280×720, 848×480, 640×480 and 320×240 pixels.
Pentax X70 12MP Digital Camera offers connectivity with USB and composite audio/visual output. USB cable and A/V cable are provided along with the device. Other accessories included in the package are battery, charger, lens cap and strap. This camera operates on a Lithium-ion rechargeable battery.
