Olympus has introduced another shockproof, waterproof and freezeproof camera; the Olympus MJU 850SW Digital Camera.
The Olympus MJU 850SW 8MP Digital Camera comes with a 1/2.35-inch CCD sensor that has a resolution of 8 mega-pixels. A higher image resolution produces superior quality images. It weighs about 136 grams and has a dimension of 93.6 x 60.9 x 21.3 mm. Video and images can be viewed on a computer through the USB interface, on a television through the video-out port as well as on the camera’s 2.5-inch LCD screen that has a resolution of 230kpixels. 6.7-20.1 mm is the camera’s focal length range which is equal to 38-114mm on a 35mm equivalent camera. It comes with internal flash that automatically correct the red-eye factor and 6 white balance modes. The camera can also be set to choose the appropriate whit balance mode.
With a 3x optical zoom, the Olympus MJU 850SW Digital Camera provides you with an option to enlarge the image up-to 3 times without compromising on the image quality. The digital zoom however affects the image quality, in this case the digital zoom varies between 5x and 15x. A light sensitivity of ISO 1600 determines the level of sharpness that can be reproduced in an image. It provides you with 24 scenic modes including the underwater mode. It uses TruPic III Image processor for high quality and low noise images. Video can be recorded at the rate of 30 frames per second with a maximum video resolution of 640×480 pixels.
Olympus MJU 850SW Compact Digital Camera comes with Face Detection Technology that tracks and focuses on faces for a perfect portrait shot. It works in combination with the Shadow Adjustment Technology that creates the correct exposure settings for the picture. Owing to its water resistant, shock resistant and freeze resistant features it is tough model for the adventurous lot. The Olympus MJU 850SW is accompanied by a hand strap, instruction manual, an AV cable, a USB cable, rechargeable lithium-ion battery along with a charger and a CD-ROM with the software.
