Olympus has introduced the Olympus E-420 Digital Camera, which is the world’s smallest digital SLR. This Olympus E-420 10MP Digital Camera comes with a picture resolution of 10 mega-pixels, a higher picture resolution delivers better quality pictures. This DSLR measures 129.5 x 91 x 53 mm in dimension and weighs about 380 grams. CompactFlash type I and II are the storage media compatible with this device. Images can be previewed on the camera’s 2.7-inch LCD screen that has a display resolution of 230000 pixels. It includes a 4.3-inch Live MOS sensor and an eye-level single-lens viewfinder. The Live View and autofocus feature allows the photographers to hold the camera away from their faces at various angles before firing the shot. It also comes with autofocus functionality.
The Olympus E-420 Digital Camera is compatible with the Olympus FL-36R and FL-50R wireless electronic flashes; these flashes when combined with the DSLR renders multi-flash photography possible. It comes with Face Detection and Shadow Detection technology, which help in bringing out the best in individual and group portrait snaps. Continuous shooting can be done at the rate of 3.5 frames per second. The sensitivity range is also quite broad ranging between ISO 100 – 1600. This digital SLR uses TruPic III Image Processor that provides faster processing time and exceptional noise reductions. You can also preview the depth of field for obtaining maximum control over the image. Additionally the bracketing function allows you to choose the best snap. You can also pre-check the white balance and exposure compensation.
Olympus E-420 Dust-Resistant Digital SLR Camera comes with a Dust Reduction System that prevents dust from getting accumulated on the lens system. It also offers 18 shooting modes for greater photographing flexibility. All types of shaky images are automatically corrected by the Digital Image Stabilisation technique.
