I started out in photography owning a Minolta SRT201,and used several other models including the Minolta XK. Fast forward to 2007, I recently had the opportunity to test out the Minolta DiMAGE F300 Digital Camera and found it to be a great overall consumer grade choice. The color fidelity of my images were very good, in most all of my shooting selections. The macro mode was impressive, focusing down to less than one foot. The camera construction is solid, with it’s aluminium body. My only knock on this model is the overall design. While the controls were ergonomically satisfactory, I don’t like the lens offset to the left. Call me old-fashioned, but I like my cameras to look like cameras, not just a digital recording device. Other than that, this is a fine camera for it’s category.
