Nikon D60 digital SLR 10.2MP Camera seems to have pioneered a new segment for compact DSLR cameras. It has simply broken the barrier of digital SLRs being not compact. Nikon has given a new dimension to its D60 model and developed it into a compact digital SLR. It has make D60 an eligible digital SLR to hold the title of ‘ultra-portability’ thereby, carried around just as easily as compact camera. It is slightly different from its earlier version D40 and D40+ with the addition of some new technological features. This device is made up of finely picked aspects from a couple of renowned Nikon series cameras, namely D3 and D300. The best to point out are EXPEED processor, active D lighting and a new addition called Image Sensor System. Still this model is considered an entry level digital SLR though it inherits some additional advantages like motion sensor to capture the subject when the camera is turned, an onboard help menu system and Stop Motion video options.
Nikon D60 has combined many-advanced features to enhance the creativity of the photography. It is elegantly designed with simple user-friendly controls and being a lightweight machine it is easy to carry as well. The EXPEED image technology improve the image quality and renders speed as it joins hand with a 10.2 Megapixel CCD imaging sensor to deliver fine details as well as provide smooth tonal texture to the image. This compact digital SLR gives the freedom to optimise and adjusts the image without the use of a computer. The main ingredients for image optimisation are functions like Active D lighting that compensate highlight or strong shadow images with natural contrast, and red eye reduction capability of the built in flash.
For an ultimate photographic experience, Nikon D60 digital SLR offers many creative features like creation of stop motion animation files and the use of optical filters. For Fast lane photography, D60 is equipped with a 3-area auto focus system for fast, efficient and precise auto focus, 3.0 fps for continuous shooting 100 jpeg picture at one stretch and high ISO sensitivity from 100 to 1600 with an extra compensation of ISO 3200.
The back panel of Nikon D60 comes with a limited number of buttons, though the main attraction here, is its interactive display system; a 2.5-inch LCD screen. This screen explains the functions in an easy way using graphic user interface. Nikon D60 Autofocus Digital SLR Camera can effectively cleanup any dust form on the lens using Airflow control system channel that clears any dust on the image path by vibrating the self cleaning sensor. It supports lenses with the shake reduction system as the Vibration Reduction Lenses make sure that the images are blur-free.
