July 11, 2009
Leica Camera has announced a limited version of its D-LUX 4 Safari camera for the adventurous lot. Following the Leica M8.2 Safari that was introduced earlier this year this D-LUX 4 is the first Leica compact camera that comes with an olive green look. This limited special edition cameras are expected to hit the UK market in late August or early September 2009.
It is said to feature a 10.1 mega-pixel sensor however it comes with a safari friendly green colour rather than the common black or silver colour. It comes with a metal body that has a anodised olive green finish, resistant to wear and tear. This guarantees the camera long term protection against accidental damage. A durable waterproofing case included with the camera matches the outdoor concept.
Alike the D-LUX 4, the Safari edition also offers options for various photographic conditions. It is believed that with its high performance lens system clubbed with the fine-tuned looks and faster processing speeds make the D-LUX 4 Safari edition a style conscious expert.
