Hassleblad unveiled its new H-system medium format DSLR camera that features a whooping 60 mega-pixel resolution. This H4D, it is believed to be the first camera to have a true-off centre autofocus system based on the True Focus technology with Absolute Position Lock. This technology corrects the vertical and horizontal shift that occurs due to camera rotation around its axis.
The Hassleblad H4D camera is fitted with sensors inspired by the remote controller of Nintendo Wii, which uses gyro sensors to reproduce a player’s movements in the game. These sensors accurately monitor the camera’s movement after the auto-focus has been locked onto one particular point.
Two models have been revealed; the H4D-60 that features a 60MP resolution and the H4D-50 featuring a 50MP sensor. The H4D-50 is said to be replacing the H3DII-50. It is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2010 at a price of 19,995euros. The H4D-60 is expected to start shipping by November 2009 with a price tag of 28,995euros.
