Following the Optio W60, Pentax has introduced yet another waterproof and shockproof digital camera, the Pentax Optio W80. This portable digital camera has been designed for the adventurous lot. This Pentax Optio W80 12MP Digital Camera measures 3.9 x 2.2 x 1.0 inches in dimensions and weighs just about 4.8 ounces. It comes with a 12.1 mega-pixel resolution for detailed images and large sized prints. It includes a wide angle 28mm lens for more elaborate views of the subjects best suited for landscape photography. All the images can be previewed on the screen's 2.5-inch LCD screen before releasing the shutter key.
The Pentax Optio W80 Digital Camera provides a 5x internal optical zoom so that the original image can be enlarged to 5 times its size without causing distortion. This combined with the wide zoom range can be used over a variety of subjects. Its anti-shake protection aids in preventing different types of camera shakes such as the Pixel Track SR mode for still image shooting, the High Sensitivity SR mode for low light shooting and the Movie SR mode for recording video clips. The auto picture mode can autonomously select the most appropriate mode for a given object or scenery. Also it advanced face detection feature can detect up to 32 faces and optimise the focus and exposure settings for excellent portrait snaps. Also the Smile capture technology has been incorporated for seizing all the happy moments.
Pentax Optio W80 Waterproof Digital Camera allows for flawless video shooting at a resolution of 1280x720 pixels at 30fps. Its spectacular waterproofing capability provides users the facility of using the camera for underwater shooting for 2 hours at one stretch. Also its shockproof feature helps its to withstand a fall from a height of one meter.
