Leica D-Lux 4 Black Digital Camera is a compact and stylish model from Leica having numerous features. This digital camera weighs 8 oz and has dimensions of 4.3 x 1.1 x 2.4 inches.
This digital camera having a resolution of 10.1 megapixels has a CCD optical sensor. The effective sensor resolution is 10,100,000 pixels. The unit provides 4x digital zoom and 2.5x optical zoom. A zoom lens of focal length 5.1 to 12.8mm and aperture size F/2.0-2.8 is used in the camera. Its focus can be adjusted both manually and automatically. Auto focus is carried out by the TTF contrast detection method at 11 zones using a motorized drive.
The shutter speed o f the camera ranges from 60 to 1/2000 seconds and the images are shot using frame movie mode. Various shooting programmes can be set in Food, Snow, Baby1, Baby2, Beach, Candle, Sunset, Pin hole, Fireworks, Landscape, Soft skin, Starry sky, Night scene, Sports mode, Aerial photo, Party/indoor, Portrait mode, Self-portrait, Night portrait and High sensitivity modes and special effects such as Soft, Neutral, Black & White can be applied to the images.
An optical image stabilizer is used in the camera that helps to prevent blurry images. Exposure modes are set in Manual, Program, Automatic, Shutter-priority and Aperture-priority modes. White balance is applied to the images using custom, preset and automatic modes where the preset modes are Flash, Shade, Cloudy, Halogen, Overcast, and Sunlight. Images captured are stored in Quick Time format.
The images captured by the camera are displayed on a 3 inches TFT active matrix LCD display that is built in and supports a display format of 460,000 pixels. It has a self timer that can be set at delays from 2sec to 10 seconds. Additional features of this digital camera are AE lock, AF lock, DPOF support, Direct print, Colour control, Face detection, Audio recording, Auto power save, Built-in speaker, Contrast control, Cropping an image, Resizing an image, Sharpness control, Horizon correction, PictBridge support, Saturation control, USB 2.0 compatibility, Digital image rotation, Digital noise reduction and Camera orientation detection.
Its pop up flash can be set in auto, flash-in, slow synchro, flash off or red-eye reduction modes. The camera has an internal memory of 50MB and can be expanded using a SD or MultiMediaCard.
Leica D-Lux 4 Digital Camera offers connectivity with USB, Composite video/audio output and DC power input. Drivers and utilities software are provided along with the device. Accessories that are provided along with the camera are Lens cap, Wrist strap, Battery case, USB cable and A/V cable. A Li-ion rechargeable battery is used to operate the camera that can be recharged using an external adapter.
