The BenQ DC C640 C740 PASM mode Digital Camera allows quick and easy access to aperture priority, program, shutter priority and manual. The camera automatically controls the amount of light that enters it according the light in the scene setting by controlling aperture/shutter. Program mode provides full access to all menu options and ensures ease of shooting. The camera also sets shutter speed according to the requirement of the exposure. You can make use of the shutter priority mode, even when your subject is on the move and you wanting to avoid image blur. Aperture priority mode can be used to control depth-of-field. You can alteranately reduce shake by making use of a tripod too.
Under the manual mode settings, you set the aperture, exposure and shutter speed for maximum manual control. This camera has a maximum shutter speed of 1/2000 sec and a minimum shutter speed of 8 seconds. Measuring a mere 12.5mm in its thickness, the Benq X725 Compact Digital Camera is incredibly thin, though surprisingly accommodates a 7MP sensor and a 2.5in LCD screen in its body. The Pentax zoom lens of this benq compact digital camera, which offers 3x optical zoom and holds 38-113mm equivalent features alongside a maximum ISO 1250, which can be considered adequate.
The design of the X725 is very much like the touch-screen T700 digital camera. In the first sight, it has a robust metal body which on further inspection reveals plastic buttons or an odd rough edge.
The Benq X725 7MP Red Digital Camera disappoints you with a start-up time of a little over 3 seconds and the menu system that appears to be punishingly slow. Moreover, the centre of the frame has a tendency to produce soft images, gradually tapering off towards the edges, and the noise tends to become more intrusive at around ISO 320 levels.
The verdict: An affordable and a slim camera not up to the mark when used.
