Canon IXUS 850 Digital Camera Review

Canon IXUS 850 digital camera has improved the exposure control which allows for easier focusing and produces better photos in dark conditions. This camera can be connected to a compatible Canon Compact Photo Printer to take the prints of the images taken. Canon IXUS 850 digital camera has 2.5 inches LCD display screen. LCD is an abbreviation of Liquid Crystal Display. It is sandwiched with two perfect glasses. It has LCD panel with 207,000 pixels of resolution. It has a CCD sensor that supports 7.1 Megapixel. A CCD sensor will provide more clear images and consumes power. Image resolution is about 640 x 480 pixels, 2592 x 1944 pixels, 2048 x 1536 pixels, 1600 x 1200 pixels, 3072 x 2304 pixels and 3072 x 1728 pixels. Images are captured in JPEG format. JPEG means joint photographic image that compresses the images but gives high quality of resolution. File size in highest resolution is 5.26 MB that can store 24 images in 128 MB and lowest resolution in 0.07 MB that has 1829 images in 128 MB. It has a 2 5MB internal memory. Images are compressed in fine and normal mode. Canon IXUS 850 digital camera is built-in with a flash. The flash functions supported are Flash Off, Auto Flash, Slow Sync and Forced On. It has viewfinder for display. White balance modes are automatic and manual in Daylight / Sunny (Preset), Cloudy (Preset), Fluorescent (Preset), and Tungsten (Preset). Shutter speed of the device is about 15 to 1/1600 sec. Shutter speed depends up on size of the lens and the timing it takes for opening and closing the shutter. Video is captured in MPEG format with a speed of 30 frames per second. Maximum movie length that is captured is 3,600 seconds. Video formats are AVI and Motion JPEG. Video resolution is 320 x 240 pixels (QVGA), 640 x 480 pixels (VGA) and 160 x 120 pixels. The light that enters when the photo is taken, measures the aperture range. Canon IXUS 850 digital camera’s aperture range is f2.8/f5.8 (wide/tele). Optical zoom supported by the camera is 3.8x and digital zoom is 4x. It has an auto focus feature. Focal length ranges from 4.6 to 17.3 mm. It has a built-in memory card as MMC and SD card. It has a USB 2.0 that helps to communicate with computers. The camera also has a rechargeable Li-Ion battery. Self-timer is used to turn off the equipment in specified time. It supports Mac OS and Windows. Canon IXUS 850 Digital Camera’ s height is 5.8 cm, width is 8.9 cm and depth is 2.5 cm which weighs just 0.1 kg.

This is a good model to use. The memory is too large and large and the flash built in technology is doing well. Over all the design is eye catching and compact.

I have another brand camera before using this model. The design was better than this but the memory space was not enough. The image compressing method is good and active.
