With the maximum and wider aperture setting and longer focal length, the long telephoto lens will provide few inches of depth of field for a subject in a longer distance of about five meter away.

When compared to wide angle lens the tele lens brings the subject much closer together then they actually been placed by compressing the space around. Wide angle lens has wide perspective for the subject. When you use tele photo lens it is important to keep the camera steady with out any camera shake. A small camera shake will create a big impact on the subject and the subject will be magnified as the lens gets longer. It is advisable to use tripod for any delicate shots.

They use it for capturing close up shots of live action wildlife scene or capturing images of sporting event in the field. 300mm focal length lens is a shortest lens that helps you to reach enough to capture live action on any field even though it requires you to get closer to the subject.
